What to Expect - St. Johns, MI

Implant Care Personalized to Your Needs

Know What to Expect with Dental Implants

The complexity of replacing a missing tooth varies depending on your unique oral condition. Some treatments are straightforward and can be completed in two appointments. Others, as with multiple extractions and placement of full arch implants, require complex surgical planning, with treatment competed over multiple visits to our St. Johns, MI office. While all cases are unique, we can provide a general overview about what to expect with your dental implants treatment. No matter how many teeth you are missing, we provide consultations where you can discuss your smile goals with Dr. Mark Connelly, in addition to a complete evaluation of your mouth and 3D x-rays with our CBCT scanner. This insight will help us determine the best treatment plan to transition you into optimal dental function, beauty, and oral health.

Implant Solutions for Any Number of Missing Teeth

Our comprehensive implant solutions treat patients who have lost any number of missing teeth. We keep all treatments related to dental implants conveniently in-house, streamlining your treatment process and retaining our high standard of care. We provide solutions for single missing teeth, multiple missing teeth, denture-wearers, and those with entire arches of failing or missing teeth. For any implant treatment, we must first ensure that enough jaw bone is present and if bone grafting is needed, this will add to your treatment time. No matter your oral condition, however, or how hopeless your situation may seem, we are here to help and encourage you to contact us if you are interested in dental implants. We provide implant care for the following cases:

Single Missing Teeth

Single Missing Teeth

Single tooth replacement is one of the most common procedures we do at our St. Johns, MI office. If your tooth is badly damaged or decayed and requires extraction, we can commonly remove the tooth and place your implant the same day. This two-appointment treatment has you returning to our office later to receive your permanent dental crown.

Multiple Missing Teeth

Multiple Missing Teeth

Multiple missing teeth in a row can benefit from an implant-supported bridge, which secures a row of teeth in the jaw. Surgery requires the placement of at least two dental implants that will heal over the next 4-6 months. Once the healing is complete, a final bridge can be placed to restore function to that portion of the mouth.

Full Arch of Missing Teeth

Full Arch of Missing Teeth

A full arch of missing teeth can be replaced with either implant-supported dentures or a full arch prosthesis secured to four or more dental implants. The most complex treatment process, some patients require bone grafting beforehand, though by using the Hahn™ tapered implant system, grafting may not be necessary. On the day of surgery, you will receive a temporary prosthesis worn as the treatment site heals. When ready, you will either have your denture retrofitted to the implants or receive a full-arch zirconia prosthesis.
